Here's a look at five of my favourite watches from the event:
1) A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar 'Terraluna'
It's a really nice take on a regulator dial, adapted to fit better on a watch dial. But also, look at the incredible back:
2) Piaget Altiplano 900P
My personal favourite watch of the show, the 900P is just 3.65 mm thin. The case back is integrated with the movement to save space. I really like how the train is on show, but in a very different
(and much better, I think) style to the usual skeleton watch.
3) Greubel Forsey Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar QP a Equation
Presented in classic Greubel Forsey styling, this perpetual calendar allows the wearer to 'travel through time' forward of backward via the crown. When you set the month, the day and date also chance to be correct. Interesting take on the complication!
4) Roger Dubuis Hommage Double Flying Tourbillon
I'm very into double regulator clock and watches at the moment, so much so I'm incorporation two regulators into my final project, so this is an easy choice.
It features a sun-ray guilloché main-plate, to which the numerals are directly attached.
5) Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Earth Moon
This watch keeps track of moon phase but doesn't show it until the 4 o'clock pusher is pressed, upon which a disk hidden under the 3:00 slides in front of the tourbillion, which represents the shining moon.
The 2 o'clock pusher controls the second time zone feature, displayed on the ring around the dial.
There were, of course, many more great watches launched, and BaselWorld 2014 is just around the corner, so there are even more to come; it's the most exciting time of year!

The Lange is definitely No.1 . Perhaps I'll buy one instead of moving to a bigger house. Hmm.
