Omega Geneve Restoration

I bought this lovely gents 1960s Omega Geneve last year and finally in 3rd year thought it was the perfect time to return it to its former glory. It had been massively neglected and water had gotten into the winding mechanism.

The glass was badly scratched up and the crown was missing.

The case was banged up and the strap was very badly worn.

Thankfully under the badly scratched glass was a nearly perfect dial and set of hands.

As you can see round the winding stem it was very badly rusted and the rust had actually fused a few of the components together and it took lots of experimenting to see if I could remove them.

A couple hours later the movement was cleaned, oil and back together.
Thankfully since the keyless work was the only section of the watch badly affected by rust a couple new components later the watch was able to be wound and was running very well.

A new glass, strap...

...Omega crown...

...and a case refurb later helped as well in making this watch beautiful again.

Jobs like this make me really love being a watchmaker!
